New hope for Polish ski-jumping
Klemens Murańka is a very young boy, called Klimek. Inspite of his young age - only 14, he has a few extraordinary results on his account, and probably everything is still ahead of him…
He was born in Zakopane 31th of August 1994. Now he attends School of Sports Championship in Zakopane. He inherited his passion to sports from his father Krzysztof Murańka who had been a competitor of Polish team in Nordic combined and biathlon for many years, and now he is his sons coach.
Incredibly successful for Klimek was his jump at Wielka Krokiew. He jumped 135m, that is 5m closer than Sven Hannawald in 2003 who set a new record for this ski-jump.
In Adam Małysz' absence in Polish Cup in Średnia Krokiew Klimek won the title of runner-up of Poland. He come in second, just behind Kamil Stach.
He was also the youngest ski-jumper registered to World Cup, unfortunately he did not manage to enter the final fifty. Klimek as the only one from all participants landed under 100m (88,5) and he was placed on the last position. So his world importance debut is smomething we still need to wait for.
Murańka signed a sponsorship contract which is valid as long as he is a minor. One of the furniture trade companies is his sponsor.
