In two Belarussian cities were found and exhumed bodies of 55 Polish soldiers, police officers and civilians murdered and killed in September 1939 - informed the office of the Fight and Martyrdom Memory Protection Council.

In Kobryn on the territory of catholic cementery was located a collective grave from which were exhumed the corpses of 13 soldiers from Polish Army, killed allegedly,on the 18th of September 1939 during Kobryn's defence.
As it follows from the initial findings, all soldiers were killed by the acting in this region (in September 1939) communist gangs, fighting against Poles which were activated when they found out that Soviet army had crossed Polish border.
