There won't be caesarean section
Caesarean section is being overused in Poland and should not be done on patient's request. Medical consideration should be decisive - these are recommendations of Polish Gynaecological Society (PTG) for the doctors delivering a birth.
Like every recommenadation of the scientific society it is not binding for anyone, it's a kind of guideline which the doctors should follow making decisions about caesarean sections. No one will interfere in their decision - said the professor Mark Spaczyński, the former chairman of PTG.
However, the Ministry deny the paper's information. - We are worried about overusing of the caesarean section in hospitals but there is no project of any legal document in this case. There are only some guidelines of Polish Gynaecological Society. We haven't dealt with that case, said Marek Haber, the vice-Minister of Health.
The doctors say straightaway: such regulations would be impossible to enforce. However, they admitt that the problem is serious. The World Health Organization recommended using the caesarean section in 10-15% of deliveries. In Poland it is used in 25-30% cases.
