"Katyń" gets through
In Hollywood, Oscar 2007 nominations were announced; members of the American Film Academy appreciated importance of Andrzej Wajda's film and Polish-British cartoon co-production of "Piotruś i Wilk" ("Peter and The Wolf")
In the year 2000 Andrzej Wajda received the honorable statuette for the lifelong achievement; his films had been several times nominated to Oscar Awards.
A few days ago Andrzej Wajda said that he would be really happy if the film "Katyń" would win the nomination because then the issue of slaughtering of Polish officers in Katyń could be shown to the foreign audience. - Who knows, everything is possible - said Wajda.
"Katyń" is going to fight for Academy Award against "Beaufort", "Forgers", "Genghis Khan" and "12".
Another nomination went to the Polish-British cartoon co-production "Piotruś i Wilk" ("Peter and The Wolf").
