Nice play from Polish upcomers

Both Marta Domachowska (21) and Agnieszka Radwańska (18) beat their oponents to get into the last 16 in the Australlian Open yetsreday. Domachowska (not ranked) defeated Chinese player Na Li (currently ranked 30), but the great and pleasant surprise for the Polish supporters was Radwanska's (ranked 28) win over the torunaments favorite, ranked as worlds number 2, the Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova (22).

Even though it seemed that Kuznetsova was not fully fit, Radwanska still showed some mature tennis (one commentary said "It is not something we often see in women's tennis, and never played by such young playares"). She played with a plan, and when she stuck to it - she was really impressive. She also lost some freaky points and made some silly mistakes, but she still deserves full praise for the game.

Radwanska had beaten highly-ranked opponents before (like Sharapova), and Polish supporters had reasons to hope she might come victorious.

In the next round it will be Domachowska's turn to be up against a tougher competition as she is to play the ever-unpredictible Venus Williams (27), ranked 8. Radwanska will have to match Nadia Petrova (25), ranked 14. Petrova has won 7 championship titles, whereas Radwanska only one.
