Polish Airlines LOT were on the list of 50 carriers, who may not survive the next period. Some analysts argue that the situation in the market for air transport is so bad that only the strongest have a chance to survive.

The list of threatened with falling through airlines was made by Douglas McNeill, analyst of aircraft transport of Blue Oar Securities investment fund. Not only LOT but also other lines were on the list: Hungarian Malev, Scandinavian SAS, Italian Alitalia and Greek Olympic. To sum up - if the situation on the fuel market were not to improve - 50 European lines would be threaten with bankruptcy.

William Walsh British Airways director confirmed that. According to his opinion there is a lot of weak carriers, who are not going to survive. "We have never had such a bad situation in our industry as we have right now" - added Walsh.
