First lesbian wedding in Poland

For the first time in Poland two women tied the knot. Sacramental "yes" said on Saturday in Warsaw two Lesbians. The wedding gave them Thomas Puchalski, a presbyter of the Reformed Catholic Church.

One of the women - during the ceremony – stressed, that their wedding will show that two persons of the same sex can also create a family. - Our desire is to be treated as any other marriage. Through wedding we would like to stress this - announced one of the young women.

But in the documents under the heading "marital status" ladies will not be able to write "a married woman". Polish law do not know a concept of homosexual wedding – explains Katarzyna Olszewska, central lawyer. - They and probably this association that named themselves a religious union can believe in the fact that these ladies are married - explains Olszewska.
