"Katyń" is fighting for "Oscar"

Andrzej Wajda's production of "Katyń" is located in the lead among foreign films that are going to compete for Oscar nomination.

Alongside the Polish production, eight different films are placed, that were chosen from among 63 titles. Among the selected eight, five films are to be chosen to be the nominees for the Oscar. Five films that will compete for the American Academy Award. We will hear the results on 22nd of January.

It is not the only one Polish production that is to fight for Oscar. In short-subject category the Polish-British cartoon coproduction "Piotruś i Wilk" ("Peter and The Wolf") is also placed.
