Polish students go to the USA to study

More people will have an opportunity to take part in the students, scientists, teachers exchange programmes between Poland and the USA within the frames of Fulbright programme thank to the Poland-USA agreement.

According to the Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Grazyna Prawelska-Skrzypek, the new agreement predicts that Poland and the USA will have an equal contribution into the activity of the foundation. It will be 1,5 million dollar every year.

Only 40 people has gone to the USA with scholarship so far and more or less 35 on the other side. Now it is going to be 80 on both sides, said Prawelska-Skrzypek.
The Fulbright Programme was prepared by the U.S. lawyer, academic professor and politician - the senator James William Fulbright (1905-1995). The main goals of the programme would be: initializing and supporting of the activities within the frames of studies, scientific researches, education and other enterprises connected with the field of knowledge, higher education, education, culture and art, realized by or for the American citizens- through the visits and exchange programmes of students, lecturers, trainees, artists, teachers, scientists and other environments of art, culture and science.
