Beenhakker as The Man of the Year according to weekly magazine "Wprost"

"Wprost" has presented Leo Beenhakker, the coach of the Polish representation in football, with The Man of the Year award. It was handed out at the Gala  in Sofitel Victoria hotel in Varsav on 17th of January.

Since 11th July 2006 Beenhakker has been the coach of Team Poland, which has won a historical promotion to European Championship. He is considered to be one of the greatest coaching personalities in football world-wide. He was the lead coach of Holland representation twice. In the years 2004-2006 he led Trinidad and Tobago team to the promotion to World Cup.

"Wprost" emphasize that being a coach of our representation is one of the most important position in Poland. He is judged by milions of Poles almost as unmercifully as the most important politicians. Beenhakker has been coping with this great pressure superbly. He has united rich and poor Polish people who live in our country and those who are far from Poland on labour emigration.
