III Klodzko Fortress Days

August 14-17, 2008, Days of Klodzko Fortress will take place for the third time. The event will abound in number of interesting events such as: Night at the Museum, Night in the Fortress – where, accompanied by soldiers from Klodzko’s 47th Prussian Infantry Regiment, visit the underground city, see the impressive show of military drill, as well as take part in the Fortress Fair, presenting artistic and culinary achievements of the Klodzko Land.

This year, Fortress Days will be celebrated in a special way, together with 8 other cities from the Republic of Poland and Czech Republic.

This year’s Fortress Days traditionally start with the Night at the Museum and the Night in the Fortress. Shortly after dark, when the reconstruction groups are approaching and military camp is growing, the Museum of Klodzka Land will open its doors - you'll be able to look at underground city to learn about the murky medieval mysteries.

Fortress Fair will also take place and on the stalls there will be enough Klodzko Land delicacies, such as honey, liqueurs, cheese, fish and artistic products and handicrafts.

Staging showing the live of Klodzko’s burghers from the eighteenth century will take place on the market. Then Klodzko’s Battle will take place. Armies will be fighting in the nearby park and will gradually approach Klodzko Fortress.

Rock concert will also take place, as well as the International Folklore Festival. Residents and tourists who will come to Kłodzko will be able to watch the performances of band from Macedonia, Turkey, but also from Slovakia, Ukraine and Scotland. During the performances, you'll be able to learn something about the history of particular country and take part in exciting contests. Days
