"Summer in Borderland" in Suwalki region

Jewish music performed by Klezmerska Band from Sejnen’s Theatre, theatrical performances and jazz will settle this summer in White Synagogue in Sejny in Suwalki. On Tuesday evening "Summer in Borderland" takes off.

In the evening a series of special summer klezmerski’s concerts for Sejny residents and tourists will be launched. This is one of the largest summer cultural attractions in Suwalki.

Borderland Centre has prepared a draft of the "Music of the Places"; the thing is to inspire artists to compose a song that would be an example of modern sejnen music. The composition should emphazize a multicultural nature of "space", which served as inspiration. In past years in Sejny lived, next to the Lithuanians and Poles, Jews, Russians and Germans. Currently, it is a borderland of two nations - Polish and Lithuanian.

"Summer in Borderland" ends in August, 14th with Miłoszowa Feast in Krasnogrud, in the fourth anniversary of the poet’s death.
