Forests are burning in western Poland

In the western part of Poland are burning forests and arable fields: the spokesman of the fire brigade Pawel Frątczak informed about two serious fires in wielkopolskie and zachodniopomorskie voivodships.

Around the Zelgniewo town in the Pilski county is burning at least several hectares of forests. The fire appeared in five different locations. The forest is being quenched by 17 fire-brigade units and 4 planes and another unit has been sent to the place of the fire. Pawel Frątczak underlined that the fire has a vertical character, most difficult to suppress by the firemen.

In turn around the Niesporowice town in Zachodniopomorskie voivodship is burning 100 hectares of crops and young forests. 11 fire brigade units and 2 planes are fighting with the fire.

The spokesman of the fire brigade said that the reason of both fires is probably very high temperature which holds steady for two days in western Poland.
