Every young Pole should know English
None of the Polish students would be able to finish education without a knowledge of English - announced the Ministry of Education. Already this year, all first-years in primary school are learning a foreign language. Next year, learning a second language will be compulsory in grammar school. - We want to have one of these two languages to be English - says Zbigniew Marciniak, the Deputy Minister of Education. Such a clause in the educational law will be in force next year, when the great reform of education gets of the ground.
This reform in teaching foreign languages is to bring Polish school to European standards. Nowadays small Poles start to learn languages as the latest in Europe.
Most countries also make it compulsory to learn a second foreign language in schools much earlier than Poland.
