Szczyrk is famous not only from recreation but also from Saint Jakob
Saint Jakob is worshipped in the whole Europe. A parish in Szczyrk wants to make use of it and attract the worshippers. Szczyrk is a touristic town, many people spend there their holidays. "The relic of Saint Jakob could widespread the spectrum of meetings with spirituality", said a priest Eugeniusz Burzyk, the spokesman of bielsko-zywiecka diocesan curia.
Now the proposal will be prepared for the Vatican City. According to the Priest Lorenc the relics of St. Jakob could be send to Szczyrk in 2009. Then, the city associated with skiing would turn into the cetntre of pilgrimages.
Perhaps, Szczyrk will be found on the map of, so called Jakob trial, through which the pilgrims travel to Santiago de Compostela. About recreating of such trial will discuss on September the scientists form the Jagiellonian University.
