Suitcase with corpse found in river

On the Odra river section between the villages Uraz and Stary Dwor a suitcase caught on the branches was found. After pulling it out, it turned out that there is a corpse of a women inside. - Prosecutor decided that body should be send to the medico-legal establishment. Autopsy revealed a natural cause of death - said Pawel Petrykowski, from Lower Silesia police.

It was suspected that the woman came from the Lower Silesia region and was 50 - 60 years old. There was a lot of different hypotheses. One of them was that the family members wanted to hide the fact of her death in order to take her old-age or disability pension. It was also suspected that the woman could came from the East and worked in Poland.

It turned out that there was a report that 60-year-old woman from Wroclaw is missing. She lived with 40-year-old man. He, however, was faltering with his testimony, and therefore was arrested for questioning. Once confirmed that the corpse in the suitcase belonged to a woman with whom he lived, the man has been arrested for three months. He was arrested on a charge of body profanation and the exposure of women to the direct danger of life and health loss by failure to provide an aid for her.
