The road to Morskie Oko is going to be renovated

A huge renovation of the road to Morskie Oko in the Tatra Mountains is to begin at any moment. For at least two summer months this route will be closed for toursits.

The road from Palenica Białczańska, where the road ends for motorised traffic, to the hostel in the Morskie Oko, was not renovated for thirty years. Its surface is in catastrophic condition and requires general repair.

- Coachmans are concerned about the planned renovation of roads and that it will last during summer season - says Edward Tybor, a representative of the district council in the High Tatras from the municipality of Bukovina Tatrzańska, on their behalf. - For them and for their families, it is a significant decrease in earnings.

Also franchise holders of Tatras hostels are alarmed, particularly in Morskie Oko, for which the road closure also means a substantial loss.
