Travel agencies are cheating
Daily Poland (Dziennik Polska) announced that almost 96.4 percent of travel agencies deceive their customers. This is a conclusion of the control carried out by the Office for Protection of Competition and Consumers (Urząd Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów) in randomly selected tourist offices. - As many as 132 out of 137 controlled companies complied in their contracts rules and provisions unfavorable to the customers, inconsistent with the Act concerning tourism services and Civil Code - says Malgorzata Krasnodębska-Tomkiel, President of UOKiK.
Most common touroperators are trying to increase fees and cost of the trip. For example, they grant themselves "the right to change prices without legitimate reason". And that is incompatible with the Act concerning tourism services.
Travel agencies generally mislead customers by using special offers. They claim that in case of last minute offers they can change the hotel and a standard of service. They are trying to induce in customers the conviction that they are selling defective goods. And this is illegal. - In that case, we have the right to complaints, as we have right to complaints while purchasing goods on a sale - encouraged Malgorzata Krasnodębska-Tomkiel.
