"Paper Holiday" in Duszniki Zdroj

On 26th-27th of July in Duszniki Zdroj will take place the VIII "Holiday Paper". This year's holiday will take place within the frames of the 20th jubilee of the Museum of Paper under the patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Marshal of the Lower Silesian voivodship.

The main goal of the festival is to popularize information about paper, its history, its role in the divelopment of civilization and ecological knowledge of skilful use of paper.
We can find there, inter alia: a vernissage of international exibition "Blowing in the wind" where one will have opportunity to watch works made of paper by the artists coming from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Turkey, Israel, USA and Chile, associated in the International Association of Paper Artists - IAPMA.

And also the traditional elements of the holiday, for example: moulding and decorating of paper, checking its features with the help of specialistic apparatus, historical printing techniques show, making of dry and sealing wax and also presentation of modern graphics techniques and handful plays for kids. A novelty will be a show of batiking of paper with the use wax and colourful paints.
