It's the end of our dreams about new highways on Euro 2012 - is written in Polish daily press "Rzeczpospolita". Poland will not build any highways granted by the EU for the naxt one and a half year, claims the press. It turned out that our law is contradictory to the Union's norms.

General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways recommended by the Ministry of Regional Development sent to all departments an order to stop applying for the permission on building of roads granted by the European Union.

Everything because our law, on the basis of which the recent roads and highways have been built, is contradictory to the Union's norms. It will take several months until we adjust it. If we carried on building in this way, the EU would probably refuse to co-finance the investments. And only on the basal road projects, which means those pointed by the government as crucial for the country's infrastructure, within the next six years Poland will receive 36 billion Zloty from the EU.
