Polish names disappear
More and more Polish parents give their children not Slavic names like: Włodzimierz or Bożena but such names which won't be able to get foreigner's tongue round like, for example: Alexander or Natalia. It is not a matter of fashion triggered by the famous series but of care for the future of children.
The professer Pawel Boski, the culture and interculture psychologist from the Warsaw School of Social Psychology, admitts that names which sound homely for the foreigners may simplify Polish life abroad. However, it is recommended to give children, as it is common in the world, the second, third and even fourth name. Then the Polish could be Slavic like: Bronisław or Gromosław and the second international, used wildely in many cultures like, for example: Maria, one of the most popular names in the West.
