Ali Agca’s, a man who was shooting to John Paul II, application for Polish nationality is now complete and will soon be on Lech Kaczynski’s desk. Agca’s delegate paid appropriate charges in Polish embassy in Istanbul, so the president will be able to deal with this surprising request.

Attacker chances for Polish citizenship are minor. Because neither he lived in Poland for at least five years, nor he has Polish roots, nor he lost Polish citizenship because of someone else's fault (which says the note relating to immigrants after 1968).

Indeed, the president may use a special way to give the nationality, evading these requirements, but the practice has shown that it is possible only in an exceptional cases, for example, for the famous football players. But for the President Lech Kaczynski’s sympathy, Ali Agca, as would-be assassin of John Paul II cannot count.
