The researchers from Society of History Lovers are striving for the exhumation of the corpses of gen Wladyslaw Sikorski and for putting his skull under tomography study. The purpose of the study is to determine whether gen Sikorski had been killed in a plane crash, or because he had been shot in a head. President of Poland, IPN general prosecutor, and even cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz has been already informed about this initiative. - The decision to take one more time into consideration the circumstances of the death of gen. Sikorski was made by several members of the Society of History Lovers a year ago, during a conference on this issue - says professor Andrzej Rachuba, president of the Society. – We know too little about the death of gen. Sikorski – he also adds. Former head of Polish government in exile was killed in Gibraltar on July 4, 1943, that is almost exactly 65 years ago. Officially, a plane crash was the cause of the death: the aircraft with General on board fell in the sea 16 seconds after the take-off. This version, however, gives rise to many controversies. Wladyslaw Sikorski’s body had never undergone a real medical examination.
