85% of homosexuals in Poland hides their sexual orientation
85 percent of Polish gays and lesbians hide their sexual orientation in their workplace because of the fear of discrimination. Trade unions should consider their problems – this is the opinion of the Campaign Against Homophobia (Kampania Przeciw Homofobii). The campaign has organized an international conference in Warsaw that is devoted to the role of trade unions in preventing discrimination based on sexual orientation in workplace. KPH leader, Robert Biedroń said that Polish homosexuals are hiding their orientation because they are afraid, among others, that they will lose their jobs, but also that they will be jeered at by their colleagues and that their occupation will be blocked. "My colleague while he is talking about his partner he alters the endings into female”. He added that 85 percent of gays and lesbians could not work because of their sexual orientation. According to his opinion, in Polish society there is still a belief that homosexuals should not demonstrate their sexuality.
