Airplane with Polish tourists sucked in mechanic

Polish tourists who were coming back from their holiday in Tenerife will have a tragic memories. Before their departure to Warsaw, the aircraft’s engine turbine sucked in a Spanish mechanic. He died on the spot. Tourists, after many hours delay, flew back home with another aircraft.

It was to be a routine review of the engine. But for 24-year-old Miguel Ángel, a young mechanic working for the Spanish airline LTE, it ended tragically. On Monday evening Ángel was preparing, on the airfield of Reina Sofia airport, an airbus 320. Polish tourists were to go back to Warsaw with it. Suddenly turbine engine sucked him in. Ángel was killed on the spot.

The group returned to Poland with few hours delay. They flew with other LTE aircraft. Unlucky plane was stopped at the Reina Sofia airport to clarify the causes of the tragedy.
