Lech Walesa was an agent
Janusz Kurtyka, IPN (Institute of National Remembrance) chairman, has no doubt: Lech Walesa cooperated with the SB (Security Service) as an agent "Bolek." "He was doing this for money" - said Kurtyka. PO (Civic Platform) politicians defend our former president. "You are destroying a legend in order to promote yourself" – they answer to the IPN historians, authors of a book about cooperation between Walesa and security force. Piotr Gontarczyk and Slawomir Cenckiewicz are convinced that Lech Walesa knowingly cooperated with the communist Security Service at the beginning of the 70s. Both IPN historians stood by their opinion of what they wrote in their book "SB and Walesa. A Contribution to the biography" in radio Tree (Trójka) interview. They repeated that the former president was the agent in the Division W-4 Gdansk Shipyard. In the 80s Walesa was to be subjected to violent SB pressure, who blackmailed him with the disclosure of former cooperation.
