Date rape drugs on Polish market

More than 6 thousand British women a year falls a victim to date rape drugs. This year date rape drugs came on a large scale to Poland - warned the creator of the campaign against social drugs. Police nonchalantly approached the first serious alarm – last year’s taking over the illegal transport of raw materials for the production of more than 300 thousand pills.
In one of bars in Lodz young woman fell a victim to this drug. Probably the agent was poured to her drink. She regained her consciousness the next day in one of Lodz’s block of flat. Medical examinations showed that she was raped.

The drugs are used also by thieves. Few days ago young man who, in one of the pubs in Sopot, drank beer with new colleagues fell a victim to this drug. When he woke up he was lying on the beach without wallet, credit card and cell phone.
This is typical effect of the medicine called in Great Britain the "date rape drug". Tasteless and odorless pill containing GHB, flunitrazepam or ketamin dissolves without a trace in beer, alcohol drinks and even water. It works after several minutes. It cause fainting and few hours amnesia.

The authors of the campaign "guard your drink" conducted by the National Bureau Against Drug Addiction, predict that this year's holiday season will be the first in which the pill hit the black market on mass-scale.
In Poland, so far only one person was convicted for using the date rape drugs. In 2006, Slawomir Z. who sexually abused teenage girl was sentenced 5 years' imprisonment.
