Polish representation former coach’s son arrested for corruption
Jerzy E., son of the former Polish national football team’s selector has been arrested today by the Central Anticorruption Bureau although he pleaded not guilty. Coach’s son is suspected of arranging matches of teams from Mazowsze. "I believe that my son is not guilty" - says Jerzy Engels, former Polish representation’s coach.
In the morning, we have arrested Jerzy E., to whom charges of sport corruption will be raised "- says the prosecutor Edward Zalewski from the National Public Prosecutor's Office, who is holding an investigation in the case of corruption in football. Suspected will be interrogated today.
CBA (Central Anticorruption Bureau) agents arrested him in Warsaw. They will take him to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Wroclaw, where he will be questioned.
Recently Jerzy E. junior worked in third league Radomiak Radom, but he was dismissed from work during spring round. Previously he trained, inter alia, Polonia Warsaw and ŁKS Lomza footballers.
