Pole as a head of Europe controllers

For three years, Poland will chair the organization which assembles control institutions in 48 countries.
Taking over the leadership is going to take place today in Cracow during the inauguration of the VIIth Congress of European Organization of Highest Organ of Control accompanied by the presence of President Lech Kaczynski. - This is not only a tremendous honour and a sign of appreciation for the work of the Highest Organ of Control internationally, but also a challenge and responsibility - stresses Jacek Jezierski, president of NIK.
NIK is a founder member of the EUROSAI. Poland institution works there very actively, for example, Poland was chairing a working group on the protection of the environment, and was a precursor of joint international control over borders.
Chairing European organizations, NIK will have an opportunity to inspire important to the interests of our country controls (among others concerning VAT) and it will have an influence on the formation of uniform standards for testing, how the European Union money are spent, so the reports of each individual country could be compared.
