"Cycling epidemic" in Lodz

May 31th, on Saturday, at 10 a.m. on the market square in Old City of Lodz Cycling Epidemic is going to break out! Within the confines of the event competitions, trial shows, cyclists passing through town, will be held.
This event, which is part of the Municipality Office of Lodz (Urząd Miasta Łodzi) project implemented by the Extracullicular Workshops Centre No. 1 (Centrum Zajęć Pozaszkolnych Nr 1) in Lodz with the aid of the funds of Provincial Fund of Nature Conservation and Water Management in Lodz (Wojewódzkiego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej w Łodzi). The aim is to promote cycling as a means of transport which is used every day and to promote active and healthy lifestyle. Cycling is the only worldwide epidemic, which one need not to be afraid. The ride along Piotrkowska Street indicate that there are many cyclists and that they need more bicycle paths.
In the Old Town on the specially prepared stage music bands are going to play. Trials will have an ideal setting, in which they can demonstrate their skills. Also demonstrations of old bikes and hiking equipment is included in the schedule. “Bicycle service” in which everyone can check the status of technical bicycle is going to operate as well. Organizers provide numerous prized contests.
