Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Lodz

On June, 5th, for the only concert of Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the winner of Chopin Competition Chinese Li Yundi one have to go to Lodz.
The performance of famous British orchestra, planned as a supplement of this year’s Easter Beethoven Festival, was due to take place in Warsaw. However, none of the capital institutions were interested in the participation of the organization of this concert. However other city found the money for their arrival.
Concert of such huge and famous orchestra cost quite a lot, about one million zlotys. The authorities of Lodz - together with the sponsors - decided to spend this sum of money. – Such huge event is a great opportunity to promote our fantastic city as a European Capital of Culture in 2016 - believes Andrzej Sułek, the director of the Concert Hall in Lodz, where the royal philharmonics will play.
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is considered one of the best group in Europe. It was found in 1946 and received a royal title from Elizabeth II. The orchestra will come to Lodz with its current boss, the Italian conductor Daniel Gattim. Previously, he and his musicians were in Poland in 1999 on Wratislavia Cantans Festival.
For the Polish audience Yundi Li will be an additional attraction. Born in 1982 Chinese in a beautiful style has won the Chopin Competition eight years ago, today he is a pianist, who effectively promotes Deutsche Grammophon concern. On June, 5th he will play a G-Major Ravel’s concert in Lodz.
