JVC company moves to Poland
JVC company decided definitely to close their factory of TV-sets in Scotland and move their montage to Poland. Because of the operation 300 Scottish workers will lose their job. However, Polish fitters who are looking for an employment will find it. The costs of work in Poland are much lower than in Great Britain and Poland has more attractive location, at least, from the point of view of the transport organization.
The "Evening time" press is writing that Scottish workers are livid. They even tried to convince the directorate of the factory that they would work more efficiently. The labour union Unite agreed even to cut jobs for 125 people.
However, their proposition was rejected. The directorate of the works John Stokes found the Unite plan "economically unprofitable".
