Polish aircraft failure in New York
On Friday because of the failure, the PLL (Polskie Linie Lotnicze - Polish Airlines) LOT aircraft stuck at New York's John F. Kennedy airport, as well as all the passengers. Machine took off just after 3.00 p.m. yesterday. It took only 50 out of 200 passengers of unlucky flight. The rest of the passengers were taken by other flights earlier.
"On Friday, malfunction appeared shortly after take-off (the plane was about to take off at 6.15 p.m.). In connection with the procedures, aircraft had to be sent to the technical service. After servicing the aircraft was again placed on the runway, however the crew said, that the error is still there and machine had to go to the specialists again "- said on Sunday Wojciech Kądziołka, Polish Airlines LOT spokesman. He did not want to say with what this error was connected.
He also added that some of the passengers were then directed to other flights, and most of them has already started their flight or landed in their country, while "aid has been offered to the remaining passengers on the spot."
LOT spokesman said that, in accordance with applicable law, airlines met their obligations. Passengers who have waited for a flight for two days cannot rely on a compensation, because it is entitled to only if the flight is canceled due to the carrier’s fault.
