The Week of Stanisław Lem in Toulouse
Exhibition of Stanisław Lem's drawings, film previews of adaptations of his prose, concerts dedicated to him, many lectures and discussions about his creation – those are only few of the attractions dedicated to the famous Polish science fiction writer.
In this year the already seventeenth Polish Week in Toulouse is dedicated to Stanisław Lem. Fans of his creation can see 22 drawings done by him, made accessible by the former Lem's personal assistant, Wojciech Zemek.
In the session's program there is the season of film adaptations of writer's prose, among them two screenings of “Solaris” - the Russian one by Andriej Tarkowski (1972) and the American by Steven Soderbergh (2002), and also a poorly known short film by Andrzej Wajda “Przekładaniec” (1968), based on the Lem's novel.
Lasting till Sunday, the week of Lem's creation was organized by the Polish study department of the Toulouse University II-Le Mirail and by the “Polish Week in Toulouse” association.
