Margaret Thatcher will be ready to give evidence in the case of circumastances concerning introduction of martial law in Poland, if Polish authorities ask her for this.
Mrs. Thatcher assured that she “will help as much as it is possible” – said Mark Worthington, Margaret Thatcher’s spokesman.
Court demanded to examine Margaret Thatcher and few other foreign leaders, and refered files of the case against Wojciech Jaruzelski and other communist high-ranking officials to IPN (Institute of National Recollection - Instytut Pamięci Narodowej). Historians are sceptical towards the value of former British Prime Minister’s testimony. IPN is appealing against a court desicion.
