Brussels about Polish economic policy

Polish Zloty (PLN) by malloq

European Commission came down on Poland. In the report about advancement of works over liquidation of Zloty and acceptance of Euro we were criticised for delay. Not only we do not change the banking law sufficiently but also we run wrong money policy. Our inflation is too high and the exchange rate of Zloty is instable.

Brussels reminded the authorities in Warsaw that entering the EU we obliged ourselves to take care to introduce Euro as soon as possible. We were at least to try to fulfil, so called Maastricht Criteria. Everything is about a few commitments: we have to maintain low inflation, reasonable interest rate, stability of Zloty and watch our expenses. It is all about to avoid huge public debt and budget deficit.

In contrast - according to European Commission - Polish authorities are not able to keep low inflation. There is more and more money on the market and prices flow. To crown it all - unpredictably. We do not know how much will cost ordinary consumer goods naxt year.
