Poland as a host of NATO summit meeting

The North Atlantic Council decided that next year’s Ministers of Defence of NATO meeting is going to take place in Poland. According to the opinion of Radoslaw Sikorski, Foreign Minister, this choice means that “during the ten years of our presence in the Alliance we are not any more a so called new member”. He also stressed that it also show a prestige because new secretary of defence of USA is also participating in the meeting.
Poland has belonged to NATO since March 1999, in September 2002 in Warsaw, informal meeting of national ministers of this organization took place.
