On 12th of February 2004, Senate of RP set up the establishment that 2th May is going to be the Day of White Eagle (Orzeł Biały). After that, it was changed into The Day of National Flag. The day of our flag has a close connection with the regulations, which were applied by communist executives. In the years of PRL, our national flags were to be taken down after May, 1th. It was due to the fact that the symbols of independence in Poland could not have been prominent in the day the celebrations of the Constitution of May 3th (Konstytucja 3 Maja), had been abolished.
