Prince Carol in Cracow
English heir to the throne, Prince of Wales Carol will make a visit in Cracow together with his wife Princess of Cornwall Camille on tuesday. The main point of their visit will be the opening of new Jewish Community Centre in the Kazimierz district in Cracow.
The centre was created at Prince Carol's suggestion, thanks to support of Word Jewish Relief organization. Prince Carol is also a patron of the building in which its headquarters find Jewish and local organizations.
The ducal couple will start their visit early at midday on tuesday from sightseeing of St.Mary's Church on the Main Market Square in Cracow, next they will go to Sukiennice (Cloth Hall). In the district of Kazimierz - old Jewish district- they will visit a Jewish Temple by Miodowa Street and thence they will move to Jewish Community Centre.
During ceremony of opening at building's doorframe will be placed a traditional mezuzah (a piece of parchment inscribed with specified Hebrew verses from the Torah , kept in the case and affixed on the right side to the doorframe of orthodox Jews.)
The heir to the British throne was already in Poland and twice in Cracow: in 1993 and 2002. For princess Camille it will be the first visit in our country.
