Food prices are rising

Food prices are increasing 15% this year. „We are using last year’s reserves, which are almost finished. The prices of bread, flour, rice, fruits and vegetables are still going to rise” – said dr Krystyna Świetlik from Institute of Agricultur and Farming Economy (Instytutu Ekonomiki Rolnictwa i Gospodarki Rolnej).
According to her opinion, in first half of the year, prices are rising 5%. We also expect the increase in meat and its products prices. Union reserves are running low. The same is concernig poultry and eggs. The only good news is: price of sugar is getting cheaper.
The Ministry of Agriculture forecasting that prices are going to rise 15%.
