14th International Festival " Old and Young in other words Jazz in Cracow"
On Sunday the 14th International Festival "Old and Young in other words Jazz in Cracow" will begin with performances from two jazz giants. For openers smooth jazz - the bassist and vocalist Richard Bona. He sings in family dialect of his region Douala in Camerun and he is called the "African Sting". He was a member of the famous Pat Metheny Group, he used to play with Joe Zawinula and Herbie Hancock, he also cooperated with Anna Maria Jopek.
Another star at the festival will be a legend of jazz percussion - Al Foster. He has been performing for 40 years, he cooperated with Miles Davis (for 13 years), Sonny Rollins, McCoy Tyner, Joe Henderson, Dexter Gordon. His discography includes more than 250 albums and his play is defined as sensitive and inspired. Within the festival, which by design is an attempt to confront experinced and debutants jazzmen, concerts of young groups will also take place. The festival will last from 20th till 26th of April.
