The 1st International Animated Film Festival in Poznań

Animator-Poznań Festival, the first edition of which coincides with the Year of Polish Animation, is to become the major animation festival in Poland, competing with the most prestigious festivals in the world. A special emphasis on the connections between animation and music is a unique characteristic of Animator,  as animated music films are a distinguishing mark of the Poznan Film Studio. Hence, Special Award will go to the best music film.
Apart from a competition open to a wide range of animated films (up to 30 minutes), the festival offers a broad scope of accompanying events: retrospectives, thematic screenings, concerts, screenings with live music, free outdoor screenings, panel discussions, animation workshops and further attractions. Animator focuses on presenting Polish animation studios with a special tribute to the Poznan studio and films by Polish animators working abroad.
The festival will take place from 7- 12 July 2008.
