Raise of auto gas and cigarettes prices

In 2009 there will be a raise in the prices of auto gas and cigarettes. Ministry of Finance will increase the excise on these products. Owners of cars running on auto gas have to bear in minds, that the price of the gas will double. Increase of excise on cigarettes will be about 15,8%.

Deputy Minister of Finance Jacek Kaplica admitted, that the planned increase of the excise on tobacco will mean raises of prices in shops. A cigarette pack will cost about one PLN more.

The same will meet drivers. Increase of excise for gas from 695 PLN to 1100 PLN per ton of the sold product will be a problem especially to distributors and gas producers. Willy-nilly it will mean increase of  prices of auto gas at petrol stations. The price of gas may not double, but the rise of several or tens per cent is possible.
