Director Agnieszka Holland stood on the top of the Polish Film Academy- was announced on Monday in Warsaw during ceremony of Polish Film Awards “Orły 2008” (Eagles 2008). Polish Film Academy, counting 500 participants, was raised in 2003. In authors mind it may be similar to other national film academies, which grant awards like French Cesars, Czech Lions or Spanish Goyas. Polish Film Awards- Eagles have been granted from 10 years. Since 2004, vote and constitute laureates exactly Polish Film Academy. Agnieszka Holland (born in 1948 in Warsaw) has in her portfolio movies like “Europe, Europe” (1990)- for which she was nominated to Oscar, as well as “Kill the priest” (1988), “Total eclipse” (1995) , “Washington Plaza” (1997).
