Awards for amateur globetrotter
„Podróże” („Travels”) magazine awarded globetrotters- amateurs in seventh edition of contest „Globetrotter of the 2007- realized dreams”.
The title of Globetrotter of The Year receive persons who join traveling with passion of world discovering, have original ideas for they dreams realization and find out attractive ways of spending they free time.
One of awarded is Piotr Strzeżysz; he receive his award in category of “Performance of the Year” for the travel to Himalayas by bicycle from Tibet capital- Lhas to Katmandu- Nepal capital.
In the category “The Idea of The Year”, for the travel which cost is not higher than 2000 PLN, won Andrzej and Jacek Weber from Kościan. Andrzej Weber decided to took his sixteen years old soon for kayak flow. The aim of this travel was to overcome a distance of 950 kilometers from Kraków to Gdańsk. Participants of the excursion reached 660 kilometers and their travel finished in Włocławek lake.
In the category “Inspiration of The year” for the travel which cost is between 2000 and 5000 won Magdalena Rosłonek and Dariusz Mitas. They have made a cruise from Mazuty to Amsterdam on a sailboat type “Orion”. Their cruse last seven weeks.
For the fifth time there was admitted Johnnie Walker Keep Walking Award, for the persons who boldly realize their journey plans. This year awarded is Marcin Tasarek- “for breaking physical and psychical barriers and uncompromising in goal reaching”.
Tasarek beat Chinese Wall in his wheelchair. Awarded said that “this award should be a message to other people, who because of their health problems do not have a courage to live the house, who do not have courage to participate in normal life”.
