300 people want to have a Pole’s Card

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed information about over 300 applications for Pole’s Card. The largest interest is in Ukraine and Belarus- the smallest in Lithuania and Latvia.

As Head of Polonia Divisionof theMinistry of Foreign Affairs' Consular and Polonia Depatrment Wojciech Tyciński said, they have 302 applications, all the time they are receiving new ones, so it may be estimated 400 such applications.

About a thousand of people have turned with questions about conditions of obtaining a Pole’s Card. Since 29th of March Poles who live across Poland’s East border can apply for Pole’s Card- the document bestowes privileges for Poles in countries where there is no dual nationality. The card entitles to refund of Schengen visa, access to Polish schools and Universities, facilitates the receiption of scholarships, and also getting a job as well as running own company.

A person who wants to apply for the Card has to prove their command of Polish language and Polish culture. They have to prove Polish origins or present a confirmation from Polonia organization about their activity for Polish good.
