Polish soldiers wounded in Afghanistan
Two Polish soldiers were wounded in Afghanistan. The vehicle they were driving came onto a booby trap. Their conditon is stable and there is no hazard to their lives.
The crash happened about 8:45 Polish time, 12 km south-west from base Ghanzi. The patrol was going to a meeting with local authorities of Wazhab district.
“One of HMMWV type vehicles drove into a booby trap. In the result of the explosion lance corporal Sebastian L. and lance corporal Piotr S. were wounded in legs. There is no danger to their life. Doctors judge their condition stable without danger to life”- informed spokesman of Operational Commander of Armed Forces major Dariusz Kacperczyk.
There is right now the second shift of Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan. Like the previous it counts 1200 soldiers. The mission of Polish soldiers is there run by ISAF (International Forces of Supporting Security).
