This is the end of double taxes for Poles working abroad. The government has prepared a bill, in which it exempts emigrants from the obligation of paying arrears in Poland if they have already paid them in the foreign country. That is not all. Those who came back to Poland and paid taxes for the second time can count on a return.
Emmigrants to Great Britain, Ireland, Holland, Belgium and USA will be most pleased with this information. Local Polonia could not wait to see the exemption from taxes, so they would not have to pay both in a foreign country and in Poland.
Jacek Rostowski, the Minister of
Finance says that all emigrants are going to be satisfied, both those who pay their taxes two times and those who are delaying this. Those who are in debt by Inland Revenue will get a cancellation, and Poles with excess payment will get a return.
“Abolition will concern also earlier years, since year 2002” – specified Rostowski.
