PSL – Polish Peasant Party (Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe) demand introduction of immediate changes in German constitution. The thing is concerning the record, which define that: to be a German citizen one has to have lived within the boundaries of Third Reich area since 1937.

“Article 116 is taking this into consideration. According to this article one can be a German citizen only with German descent, who turned up to be on the terrain, which since 1937 was the Third Reich area. These records should disappear” – said Stanisław Żelichowski from PSL. Professor Władysław Bartoszewski, who is taking care of Polish-German relationship in the government, is not supporting PSL’s demands. Yet Żelichowski hopes to convince Civil Platform (Platforma Obywatelska) and Polish government to take care of this case in German constitution.
