The Polish government is planning to build a nuclear power station. Proper documents are in preparation by The Ministry of Economy.
The power station will cost at least several billion euros and be built no earlier than in 10 years. The location of the reactor is not been known yet. Żarnowiec, one of the options in the eighties, was taken into consideration.
However, the decision has not been taken yet. Over 90 percent of energy in Poland comes from coal power stations. Among our neighbours only Belarus has no atomic power stations. According to the GFK Polonia survey conducted on behalf of ‘Rzeczpospolita’, 56 percent of Poles fear atomic energy.
